Emmerdale devotees were left gobsmacked after discovering that Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy Robinson on the ITV soap, has a famous sister. The pair recently made a public appearance together at an awards ceremony. Amy, 38, is one of three well-known sisters, all of whom have graced popular television shows. Last month, Amy, who is expecting her second child with former EastEnders star Toby-Alexander Smith, attended the Pride of Britain Awards with her sister Kimberley Walsh.
Kimberley, 43, is a singer, model and actress who first gained recognition on ITV's Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. She is best known for being part of the pop group Girls Aloud. Amy took to Instagram to share a stunning photo of herself and Kimberley posing on the red carpet at the event, which took place in London on October 20, reports the Daily Star.
She captioned the post: "It's been one hell of a week that started off on Monday at the most amazing @prideofbritain awards with my big sister and our amazing @encantatalentmgmt team!".
"So grateful to get the opportunity to go to these wards and celebrate the amazing bravery and stories of the incredible winners."
Amy added: "What a night. Westlife...omg my 16 year old self nearly combust. Gorgeous to bump into some friends too, Thanks so much for having me @prideofbritain it was an honour. Thanks @lisalaudat1 for the incredible hair and hair up."
The post has prompted a wave of responses from fans who were previously unaware that Amy and Kimberly are sisters. In the comments section, one person remarked: "Omg didn't know you and Kimberley are sisters. You can definitely see the resemblance and can easily pass as twins! Looking fab sisters! !"
Another admitted: "I was today years old when I realised you and Kimberley are sisters!" whilst a third enquired: "Are you twins?" and someone else commented: "Wow, stunning sisters."
Amy has been a mainstay on Emmerdale for more than ten years, since her character Tracy was first brought in as a romantic interest for Sam Dingle (James Hooton).
Whilst her romance with Sam proved brief and concluded with betrayal, Tracy managed to establish herself in village life, even taking employment with Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick) at the B&B.
By 2016, Tracy had married David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) before ultimately developing feelings for her late husband, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
Yet Amy isn't the sole member of her actual family to have featured on Emmerdale, as her elder sister, Sally Walsh, also appeared on the programme, portraying teenager Lyn Hutchinson from 1997 to 2000.
Lyn was recognised for her troubled romances with Roy Glover (Nicky Evans) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), with whom she was unfaithful to Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman).
Upon learning of Scott's liaison with his stepsister, Kelly (Adele Silva), Lyn chose to depart the village for good in 2000. Following her time on Emmerdale, Sally has appeared in a host of popular shows, including Cold Feet, Fat Friends, The Bill, Heartbeat, Coronation Street, Doctors, and EastEnders.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
