Two women have been taken to hospital after an "explosion" in a UK beauty spot. An investigation is underway with a cordon set up in Central Forest Park in Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Police said they were called to a report of an aerosol can blowing up inside a tent, and that two women have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening currently, the force said.
A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a fire in Stoke-on-Trent. We were called by colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service to an area near Central Forest Park.
"Officers went to the scene following a report that an aerosol can had exploded inside a tent. Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended.
"Two women were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life changing or life threatening at this time."
Witnesses have been asked to call the police on 101, quoting incident number 333 of 7 November, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
An ambulance service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of two patients who had suffered burns injuries. One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered two women who were treated for injuries not believed to be serious before they were both taken to hospital for further assessment."
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment via email.
